What sets the Palm*Grove apart from other neopagan groups?

The true Meaning of Life (1 perspective)

A Druid Missal-any

Welcome all...

Welcome to the National Palm*Grove Online

We have decided to go National under the Palm*Grove Flag !!!!

The Palm*Grove Currently has 2 Fronds under its flag.. The first frond has been given over to My Apprentice - Twilite-Druid.  It is now established in his home in the Brandon area of Florida.

The Second Frond was established in Pittsburgh ,PA. and now has 10 members as well as 1 new initiated level 1 Druid... Donna

Our apprentice Hobbit has returned to Arizona to attend Colledge and hopefully will open up a frond in the southwest for us ... eventually.

And Donna will work to open up a frond in the smokie mountains when she arrives!!!

Our ceramonial area is now called a nebulon

Our Grove combines a unique mixture of Reformed Druidism, philosophies of the Wiccans, Ancient CeltsSpiritual Humanists, and Universal Life Church, Rolled up into one big round box, with a nice purple Ribbon around it, and a bottle of whiskey on the side.

( Whiskey- thats such a pleasant word, it comes from the Gaelic - Ishkabaha: meaning :: "The Waters of Life").

The Palm*Grove is  comprised of many  people, animals, Trees ,fae, and spirits ,etc... who have come together for a common purpose.

To Seek out the Base-Line truth of spirituality in its purist form and  to celebrate life in the here and now.

The main tenets and practices of the Palm*Grove may be found in the "about the Grove" page.

WE are not anarchists, nor are we new agers, we are simply minimalists. and feel that keeping a minimal amount of "written in stone tenets" allows us to more freely find the path that works best for each individual in the community.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Palm*Grove IS growing dramatically through out the country !!!  In PGH alone we have brought in 10 new members and we have just officially initiated a new member that wished to be a full time Druid.

All Please welcome Donna  to the ranks of level 1 Druid.   She is to be a forest ranger in Tennessee soon.   What a great occupation for a Druid!!

Donna will work towards opening up a Frond grove in the smokie mountains for us when she gets there and gets settled .

SO  if you live in the Tennessee area keep an eye out for the Pallm grove of the smokies opening soon.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Druids are, for the most part solitary creatures who exist just outside of the mainstreem life to study, practice and create magical , and spiritual items for people.

We are mostly dissinterested in what spiritual path you follow or what god you pray to.

The Priests are here to help you on your own path, give advice , create spiritual items for personal use and lead in the general practices, magical circles and rituals or ceremonies.

They are not here to force you into any particular belief system or to extort money from the masses.  ( though all gratuities  are gratefully accepted, and some functions may request a donation to offset the expenses)

Our Priests will help you on your spiritual journey.

The journey itself is yours .

It now seems that the Old Ways, re-interpreted for our times, can offer us the kind of spirituality that we need to heal the separation that has occurred between ourselves and our environment.

Druidry is one such Way, and although at first sight it might appear to be just an old curiosity, a quaint memory from the distant past, if we take the time to look at it more closely, we will discover a treasure-chest just waiting to be opened. And in this chest we can find at least seven gifts that Druidry brings to our modern world:  ** read more about the 7 gifts of Druidry in the journal area "the 7 gifts of druidry" **

WHAT IS DRUIDRY?

Druidism, or Druidry as it is often called, is for some a spiritual path, for others a religion, and for others a cultural activity.

As a cultural activity, Druid ceremonies provide part of the context and pageantry for the National Eisteddfodau of Wales, Cornwall and Brittany.

As a spiritual way or philosophy, Modern Druidism began to develop about three hundred years ago during a period known as the ‘Druid Revival’. It was inspired by the accounts of ancient Druids, and drew on the work of historical researchers, folklorists and early literature. In this way Druidry’s heritage stretches far back into the past.

Read different authors’ views on What is Druidry?:

What does it mean to be a Druid today? Above all else, Druidry means following a spiritual path rooted in the green Earth. It means participating in a living Western spiritual tradition drawn from many sources, including surviving legacies from Celtic wisdom teachings, but embracing the contributions of many peoples and times. It means learning from archaic traditions, from three centuries of modern Druid scholarship, and from the always changing lessons of the living Earth itself.

It means embracing an experimental approach to religious questions, one that abandons rigid belief systems in favor of inner development and individual contact with the realms of nature and spirit.
John Michael Greer, Druidry – A Green Way of Wisdom

It’s an attitude, an understanding, an exquisitely simple and natural philosophy of living. For a great many it is a rich and ancient religion, a mystical spirituality. For others it’s simply a guiding way of life. It is absolutely open and free for anyone to discover.
Emma Restall Orr,

Rather than being an organized religion, Druidry offers a personal individual life path that can become part of a modern urban existence as easily as a rural life. It connects us instinctively to the life-giving energies of the earth beneath the pavements, and the sky above the highest office or apartment block.
Cassandra Eason,

What is Druidry? A Spiritual Path, a way of life, a philosophy, Druidry is all of these…Druidry today is alive and well, and has migrated around the world forming a wonderful web of people who honour and respect the Earth and the sacred right to life of all that is part of the Earth. Like a great tree drawing nourishment through its roots, Druidry draws wisdom from its ancestral heritage. There is a saying in Druidry that ‘The great tree thrives on the leaves that it casts to the ground’. Druidry today does not pretend to present a replica of the past, rather it is producing a new season’s growth.
Cairistiona Worthington, The Beginner’s Guide to Druidry

One of the most striking characteristics of Druidism is the degree to which it is free of dogma and any fixed set of beliefs or practices.
